DIY Tea Towels

DIY Tea Towels! Perfect hostess gift or wedding present!

My godmother is one of those people who overflows with creative talent. I remember spending summer nights at her house sitting around the kitchen table painting sun catchers, cross stitching, and learning how to crochet. Therefore, when it comes to wedding presents, it is no wonder that she is known for her embroidered tea towels. My mother received a few over the years and I was overjoyed to receive a set of my own on my wedding day. It was one of those moments when you realize – I’m all grown up! Crazy how a set of tea towels can do that!

Ian and I have a few weddings to attend this summer and I wanted to add a touch of my godmother’s homemade charm to the gifts we picked off the registry. My embroidery skills need a bit of practice, so I opted for a fool-proof option – fabric pens! I chose to write on the towels, but you could also decorate the towels with a cute design!

Quick Tip: Use light strokes so the fabric pen ink won’t bleed! Let the ink dry, then trace over your work to achieve a more saturated look.

Clay Ring Holder

DIY Clay Ring Holder

Wisconsin winters are beautiful. Snow frosted parks offer weekends packed with ice skating and sledding. Sounds magical, right? It is most of the time, but when the wind chill dips below zero you have to get creative.

I love getting out my craft supplies on days like these. It’s refreshing to shut off Netflix, put on some music, and let the creative juices flow! After a few minutes playing around with molding clay I came up with these two ring holders.

After baking them in the oven for 15 minutes they were ready to decorate! These ring holders not only are a great way to pass the time on a cold day, but they would make a lovely present.

At-Home Massage Gift Basket

Valentine's Day Gift Idea: At-Home Massage Gift Basket

Having a difficult time thinking of a Valentine’s Day gift? Try putting together a small themed gift basket! Things have been hectic around here lately, so relaxation was on my mind.

To give the gift of “relaxation,” I added little items that facilitate an evening of pampering: a Lush bath bomb, massage bar, and mini bottle of champagne. Search Spotify for a spa playlist and you have the perfect environment to let your stress melt away.
