It had been four months since I last saw my friend who lives in Milwaukee so I thought it was about time to make another weekend trip down to visit. Ian and I arrived a few hours early to check in at our hotel and walk around the Third Ward.
As a designer, it’s no surprise that this is my favorite area in Milwaukee. It is sprinkled with boutique stores, coffee shops and advertising offices. Ian was a bit embarrassed when I walked into a stationery store and had a small geek-out moment. I ran from one display to the next looking at note pads, ribbon and greeting cards. It was difficult, but I narrowed down my purchases to these two cute note pads.
After dropping off my shopping bag at the hotel we met up with our friends at Lakefront Brewery. As many of you already know, I am not a huge beer fan but that never stops me from signing up for a tour! Our guide was hilarious and had us reenact the opening credits of Laverne and Shirley. A dream come true?! I think so! Sadly, I think my friend and I were the only ones on the tour that actually knew the theme song by heart.
We ended the night with a few drinks on Water St. and pancakes at George Webb (it was my first time there!) Since I live the #grannylife I was exhausted by the end of the night, but we had a blast catching up and spending the night out with friends.
