June Favorites

June Favorites | Beauty and Blooms

It’s that time again! I feel like June just flew by! Here are a few items that I have been loving this month.

  1. Tarte Amazonian Clay Foundation: This has been a HUGE favorite this month. I had heard rav reviews about this foundation and decided it was time to try it out myself. It’s a full coverage light weight foundation that is ideal for hot summer days.
  2. Pocky: I can’t believe it has taken me this long to try Pocky! While I was at Target I decided to pick up a box of strawberry pocky and fell in love. This definitely will not be my last box!
  3. Oh Joy! Straws: I love using straws so these reusable plastic straws from the Oh Joy! line at Target were right up my alley. Their bright neon colors are perfect for everyday use or to spice up a summer party.
  4. Wet n’Wild Nail Polish: This shade (Sugar) is an inexpensive dupe of Essie’s Ballet Slippers. I was impressed with the quality of the formula seeing as it only set me back $1.69.
  5. Travelo: This little device is an essential in every girl’s purse! It allows you to carry a little travel size of your favorite perfume.

It’s surprising how much you realize someone’s absence when you’re in a long-term relationship. I used to thrive when I was alone and I didn’t even bat an eye at the silence that surrounded me. After living with Ian for close to a year, I have felt a shift. When he leaves on work trips I become hyper aware of the silence and have to create to-do lists to keep me occupied. Thankfully, he flew home today and I am looking forward to a weekend of celebrating my parents 28th wedding anniversary!  Have a great weekend!

This was another stressful week at work, but Ian and I were determined not to bring our stress home. We let ourselves vent for a good ten minutes, then we focused our energy on getting outdoors, attending a local art show, and grabbing dinner with Ian’s family (who was visiting from out of town.) It was difficult at first, but by the end of the night we both felt refreshed and thankful we didn’t let our work ruin the time we get to spend together.  I hope you all have a relaxing weekend!
