Coming off an exciting weekend catching up with friends in Milwaukee, a quiet week was needed. Ian and I passed up the weekly farmer’s market and live music events to catch up on emails and laundry. While it sounds unappealing, we both felt satisfied at the end of the day. Sometimes we all need to take a break from our busy schedules and recharge.

After a week of rain I cherished every moment the sun was out! Ian and I went on evening bike rides, strolled around the farmers market and checked out a new winery. We are continually exploring our surroundings – even after a year of living here! This weekend we head back to Milwaukee for Ian’s high school reunion and to catch up with old friends.

Over the weekend Ian and I drove to Madison for a bridal shower. While a short visit, it was packed with quality family time. We laughed until we cried, jumped around in the mud, and devoured caramel apples. In a nutshell, it was a small recreation of my childhood. I held onto those memories as we trudged through the work week (we are working on Black Friday ads in the office – so it’s a bit crazy!) As we head into the weekend I am looking forward to taking a bubble bath, snuggling up with a good book and savoring the last bit of summer.
