I love a good ballet and I am blessed to have a husband that appreciates the art. Over the weekend Ian and I got dressed up, dined out at a ritzy restaurant (treating ourselves with a gift card we received for our wedding) and attended the Cinderella ballet. The stepsisters were played by men and they stole the show! I never thought I would be at a ballet laughing until my stomach hurt – but this performance really proved me wrong!

Since the ballet was in Milwaukee Ian and I decided to make a weekend out of it! We caught up with a good college friend and visited the Milwaukee Art Museum. Since the main museum building is closed for renovations we got artsy at the craft stations. Yes, they were geared towards children, but we shared a lot of laughs and made a few art pieces for our fridge.

Navigating a Wedding Registry

After Ian and I got married, I realized guests detest registries. No one wants to be the boring guest who buys the new couple a pot. Therefore, they go “rouge” and pick out what they think the couple wants/needs.

While Ian and I appreciated all the gifts our guests showered us with, I thought it was interesting that people thought it was dull to buy off the registry. In reality, the couple is guaranteed to love the gift since they picked it out!

Therefore, I thought I would put together a registry guide to navigate guests through buying off the registry while putting a personal spin on the gift. Tip: Buy one item off the registry and pair it with pair it with a few smaller items to add a unique spin on a traditional gift.

It’s finally farmers market season! Ian and I squeezed in a trip to the Madison farmers market on the Square last weekend. It was so nice to be back in our college town. As we walked from vendor to vendor we bumped into old friends and loaded up on plants for our mini balcony garden. Hopefully we will have better luck with our garden than last year!
