Ghost Cupcakes

Halloween Ghost Cupcakes | Beauty and Blooms

Ready for a bit of honesty? I’m not a huge fan of Halloween. Yes, the inner child in me still loves getting dressed up, but Halloween tends to lean too heavily on the scary side for my liking.

To those who know me well, this is not a huge surprise. I even have to close my eyes during horror film trailers! Being scared is just not my cup of tea. Therefore, these “spooky” ghost cupcakes were right up my alley. They are a light-hearted way to enjoy Halloween and they only take a few steps to recreate.

How To:

  1. Bake a batch of your favorite cupcakes.
  2. Decorate marshmallows with black piping icing and let dry
  3. Frost cupcakes with vanilla frosting
  4. Top each cupcake with a decorated marshmallow
  5. Enjoy!

Ian and I felt cooped up in the house and decided a mini road-trip was just what we needed to feel refreshed and energized. We debated driving down to Milwaukee or up to Door County, but after seeing photos of the sand dunes at Whitefish Dunes State Park the decision was made. Photos can not do this place justice! After hiking to “Old Baldy,” one of the largest sand dunes in the state, we sat on the shoreline to watch the sunset. Hopefully we have a few nice days left this season and Ian and I can make it back out to the park and enjoy the beautiful views it has to offer.

Frankenstein Oreos

Frankenstein Oreos | Beauty and Blooms

Frankenstein Oreos…you looked great in my head but in reality, I think you have seen better days! I debated whether or not to even upload these photos – since let’s be real, they look a little sad – but then I thought, “what the hay?!” not every cute idea can be executed to Pinterest’s standards. So feast your eyes on my “spooky” Halloween creation!

I challenge you to make these yourself and share your photos with the #beautyandblooms hashtag! I would love to see your frosting piping bag skills! Clearly, I may need a bit more practice!

To create your own Frankenstein Oreos all you need is a pack of Oreos, green candy melts, and black piping frosting. Melt the green chocolate in a microwave safe bowl and dip your Oreos! Once dry use the black piping frosting to drawn on “scary” Frankenstein faces! Have fun!
