Pita Chips

Homemade Sea Salt Pita Chips

Our favorite household snack? Hummus and pita chips. Therefore, it was only a matter of time before I tried my hand at making pita chips at home. Seeing as it was my first attempt at making these crispy chips, I kept it simple. I didn’t want to admit defeat when it was only a poor choice of seasoning that turned this experiment into a disaster.

Homemade Sea Salt Pita Chips

With the oven pre-heated, I sliced pita bread into triangles, toss them in avocado oil and added a dash of sea salt. When the timer beeped, I opened the oven to a tray of warm, crispy pita chips. I had to bat Ian’s hand away a few times so I could take these photos before he ate the whole tray full! I guess that means they were a success, right?!

Homemade Sea Salt Pita Chips

While the convenience of buying a bag of pita chips at the store is tempting, it’s nice to have control over your own seasoning and snack on the warm crisps right out of the oven! Next time I’m planning on being more adventurous and try adding Cajon spice for a bit of heat.

What seasoning are you excited to try?

Pineapple Orange Soda

Pineapple Orange Soda

I’m a plain jane when it comes to my beverage of choice – water. That’s right. I will pass up a tall glass of ice tea on a warm day for a chilled bottle of water. But that doesn’t mean I don’t enjoy a sweet treat every now and then.

Pineapple Orange Soda

Recently, I’ve been craving something sweet to cap off the last days of summer and quickly fell in love with this homemade fruit soda. It’s simple to make, refined sugar-free, and a fun alternative to traditional soda. Bonus: the recipe is flexible and you can experiment with your favorite flavor combinations!
