The start of a new year never fails to bring around a sense of reflection. As I look back on 2013 I see a year of highs a lows, much like any other year. Ian and I graduated from college, celebrated job offers, moved to a new city, and became engaged. We also struggled with the loss of family members, disappointment over job rejections, and struggled with fitting into our new life after college. As I look forward to our plans for 2014 I am excited. We have set so many goals for both our personal and professional lives that I am ready to jump right in and make the most of the new year. While I know that with any year, we will hit pitfalls and hard times I am thankful I have a loving family and great blogging community to support me. Thank you for following me along this journey and Happy 2014!

Chicago Weekend

In my latest Friday Favorites post I talked about my Chicago trip. Since it was our first couples trip, that included my best friend from High School and her boyfriend, we came home with more photos that normal and I thought it would be fun to share a few of our favorites! Our trip was filled with shopping on Michigan Ave, dinner at Hub 51, and drinks on the 96th floor of the Hancock Building. We had such a great time in Chicago and we can’t wait until our next visit.

Pumpkin Patch

A few weekends ago Ian and I traveled to our local pumpkin patch. We spent the afternoon walking around the apple orchard, snacking on carmel apples, and enjoying the crisp fall air. While our main goal of the day was to pick out a few pumpkins to bring home, it ended up to be quite an adventure. That’s one of the things I love most about Ian, he can make the simplest things into a cherished memory.
