To get into the spirit of St. Patrick’s Day Ian and I met up with some friends and attended our first Gaelic Storm concert. Not fully knowing what I was getting myself into, I found the concert to be awe-inspiring. Each musician played multiple instruments flawlessly and knew how to keep the audience entertained. It was the first time I really celebrated St. Patrick’s day and I look forward to continuing the tradition next year.
Winter Wine Festival
In the winter months it’s challenging to find new activities to fill your weekend. Luckily, while enjoying a Friday night dinner we learned about a winter wine festival taking place over the weekend. Desperate to try something new, Ian and I loaded up in the car and drove half an hour to the winery. The event was held outdoors, so we made sure to bundle up! Despite our cold fingers and pink noses, we had a lovely time wine tasting, dancing to the live band, and taking a horse drawn carriage ride around the vineyard.
Friday Favorites
{After our snowball fight in Millennium Park}
Over the weekend Ian and I drove down to Chicago to spend time with his cousin who was visiting from Scotland. While we enjoyed the many attractions Chicago has to offer, the highlight of the weekend simply was catching up. Sadly, the weekend came to a close all too quickly and we had to head home to Wisconsin.
Hope you all have a great weekend!
