Holiday Shopping in Paoli

When I was back home we decided to forgo the busy shopping mall and head out to Paoli, WI. The small town was brimming with Christmas spirit and we enjoyed the wide range of gift options. Within a mile radius you could pop into an antique store, sample cheese and browse carefully curated art galleries. It made Christmas shopping into an experience rather than a chore. If you are ever in the Madison area I would recommend taking a detour and visiting this little town for yourself!

After an emotional weekend it was refreshing to go back to work (I never thought I would say that!) Little things such as Christmas music, twinkle lights and surprise chocolates put a smile on my face. I’m looking forward to spending a festive weekend with Ian as we stop by a few holiday attractions around town. I hope you all have a great weekend!

Saying Goodbye

I came back to work after an laughter filled holiday weekend at home only to get the call that I would be making a return journey this weekend – but this trip will be much more somber. Earlier this week my grandfather left the world after a long fight with Alzheimer’s. He was a man of passion and dreams. His small town roots never held him down as he risked his life in the air force and graduated college with his doctorate. He encouraged all of his grandchildren to believe in themselves and cherish their education. We will miss you, grandpa.
