Ian came down with a cold this week so I spent most nights playing nurse. Luckily he was feeling well enough yesterday to take a walk down by the water. It was a gorgeous evening and we felt rejuvenated after a bit of fresh air. With hopes of Ian getting his energy back, we are heading down to Madison for the weekend to spend time with family. I hope you all have a relaxing weekend!

It’s surprising how much you realize someone’s absence when you’re in a long-term relationship. I used to thrive when I was alone and I didn’t even bat an eye at the silence that surrounded me. After living with Ian for close to a year, I have felt a shift. When he leaves on work trips I become hyper aware of the silence and have to create to-do lists to keep me occupied. Thankfully, he flew home today and I am looking forward to a weekend of celebrating my parents 28th wedding anniversary!  Have a great weekend!
