This past year has been the first time I have lived more than 30 minutes from my family. Being left out of celebratory gatherings, shopping trips and casual family dinners tugs at my heart from time to time, especially as the seasons change. I realize I am not alone in this feeling – some may even say I am lucky! I still live in the same state as my family, but I miss the convenience of living nearby. Therefore, I have been looking forward to the weekend for quite some time! Ian and I will be traveling back to my hometown to celebrate my cousin’s wedding! I hope you all have a great weekend!

Coming off an incredible weekend catching up with my college friends the work week seemed to fly by. I found myself sitting at my desk and smiling as I recalled our Milwaukee adventure. How I wish we all lived closer together! As we head into the weekend I am looking forward to decorating our home for Autumn and finally taking a trip to the pumpkin patch. When we experience a week where everything seems to go wrong, it’s easy to get wrapped up in negativity. This week I decided to fight to stay positive. I cuddled up with a new book, took a walk outside, and purchased flowers at the last farmer’s market of the season. While it wasn’t much, they were little moments that I could hold onto and smile about when things around me became chaotic once again.
