Cacao Oatmeal! Delicious superfood breakfast packed with antioxidants!

Chocolate oatmeal for breakfast?! I bet you’re thinking, “That can’t be healthy!” The great thing about this recipe is that it’s actually healthy! By using cacao powder, which is packed with antioxidants, and pairing it with maple syrup you can make an indulgent breakfast that is refined sugar-free. Definitely a step up from a store-bought box of maple brown sugar oatmeal (one of my old-time favs!)

Feeling the chocolate vibes? Toss in a few dark chocolate chips! If not, here are a few noteworthy flavor combinations:

  • Handful of Raspberries
  • Sliced banana
  • Dollop of peanut butter
  • Pinch of coconut flakes

Cacao Oatmeal

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 C. Oatmeal
  • 1 C. Almond Milk
  • 1 tsp. Vanilla Extract
  • 1 Tbs. Cacao Powder
  • 1-2 Tbs. Maple Syrup
  • 1 Pinch Sea Salt

Recipe:

  • Mix the oatmeal, almond milk, and cacao powder at medium heat on the stove
  • Bring to a boil, then turn down the heat and simmer
  • Add the vanilla extract, maple syrup, and salt to the oatmeal
  • Once it reaches your desired consistency, remove from heat and scoop into a bowl
  • Add your desired toppings and enjoy!
